Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring CVICU experience, NextStage CVVH machine proficiency, and a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Day and night shift options available, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
- Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed
- Utilizes Epic charting system
- Requires experience and knowledge of the NextStage CVVH machine
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in CVICU within the last 3 years required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required, within the past 12 months preferred
- Level I Trauma center experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher passing score
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Respiratory skills required include ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Cardiovascular skills required include CVP monitoring, CABG care, post cardiac surgery management, sheath removal, and epicardial pacing wire care and management
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT required
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, and IV insulin protocols required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to post-cardiac surgery and cardiovascular intensive care patients
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
- All references must be removed prior to consideration
