Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring CVVH machine expertise and a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- >Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Day and night 12-hour shifts available (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
- Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Utilizes NextStage CVVH machine and manages CRRT/CVVHD therapies
- Cares for post cardiac surgery patients including CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD)
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in CVICU
- Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
- Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable unit experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting
- Skilled in arterial line management, central/PICC line care, IV therapy, and blood product administration
- Experienced in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated or tracheostomy patients
- Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular surgical and cardiac intervention patients
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- Holiday coverage required for some designated holidays
- Must submit to and pass a telemetry competency exam, including adult and pediatric rhythm identification, prior to starting the assignment
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, nationally recognized teaching and referral center
