Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of tele/stepdown experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital with 110 staffed beds
• Telemetry unit with an average daily census of 16 patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with total joint replacement, neuro spine, general surgery, wounds, diabetic, medical COVID, and oral surgery cases
• Care includes cardiac telemetry, stepdown/PCU, stroke/CVA, and pre/post cardiac cath patients
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Required to float between two facility locations as needed within the service line
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Stepdown or telemetry experience with stroke and post cardiac cath patients required
• PCU, Cardiac CCL, and stroke care experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Prior BJC travelers must complete an 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service before returning

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation for a diverse patient population
• Deliver respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Perform IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Support wound care, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Navy scrub color required
• Some initial orientation hours may fall outside typical contract shift times
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with additional time requiring manager approval
• First-time travelers with relevant unit experience will be considered
