Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ER Holding/Rapid Admit Unit position requiring NM or compact RN license and NIHSS certification.
Details
- Work in the ER Holding/Rapid Admit Unit providing MS level of care
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 6:30 to 19:00
- Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient ratio of 1:4, with potential to float up to 1:6
- Floating required to like units within scope as needed based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required (pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start)
- Current certifications: BLS, CPI, and NIHSS (ACLS preferred)
- 2 years of RN experience preferred, will consider 1+ years
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line management, chest tube care, oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, CVA and substance withdrawal management, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, and cardiac monitoring
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry environment with cardiac monitoring and emergency response protocols
- Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 4 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
