Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ year of experience for a night shift position providing critical care and emergency department respiratory services.

Details

• Provides respiratory services across adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Treats a variety of patients requiring respiratory support, including pediatric patients over 13 admitted through the ED
• Performs bedside bronchoscopy procedures
• Utilizes specialized equipment including Servo I/U, Hamilton C1, V60, AirSense/AirCurve, INOMax, OptiFlow, Airvo, MicroMax, Panda Warmer, and Boston Scientific Exhault for bronchoscopy
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Every other weekend (EOW) rotation
• 1:1 patient ratio experience required

Requirements

• Active RRT certification required
• PA state license required if applicable, and must be in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• ACLS and CRT certifications preferred
• Experience with any charting system required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with airway management devices including suctioning, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Proficient in ABG procurement and interpretation
• Experience with oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula, T-piece, and trach collar

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• RTO requests will be reviewed
• Approximately 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules required prior to start
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former employees must be separated from the health system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
