Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a CVICU position on night shift requiring at least 1-2 years of ICU/cardiac nursing experience and a UT or compact RN license.
Details
- Straight nights or 50/50 shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 24-bed ICU unit with a staff of 46
- Patient ratios of 1:2, 1:3 for PCU boarders, and 1:1 for sitters or higher acuity patients (IABP, CRRT, open hearts)
- Unit secretary or tech coverage available during day shift when census exceeds 10 patients
- Uses EPIC documentation system
- Floating required to PCU or as a sitter anywhere in the hospital inpatient areas
- 3 weekend shifts required within a 4 week period
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license (UT or Compact) required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, though 1 year of strong experience may be considered
- Cardiac nursing experience required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Experience with ventilators, vasopressors, restraint use, arterial lines, and other ICU skills
- Experience with procedures such as rapid sequence intubations, central line placements, bronchoscopy, and chest tube placement
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Care for critically ill cardiovascular ICU patients including high-acuity cases such as IABP, CRRT, and open heart patients
- Perform or assist with procedures including rapid sequence intubations, central line placements, bronchoscopy, intubation, arterial line placement, and chest tube placement
- Team environment values outgoing, collaborative personalities
- Required to wear Caribbean Blue scrubs
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
