Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring an active NJ or compact RN license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical/Surgical Unit of a hospital setting
• Care for a patient population spanning pediatric to geriatric age groups
• 12-hour AM shifts, 7a-7p, 3 days per week for 36 hours weekly
• Must be open to float, including to a sister hospital nearby
• On-call responsibilities required
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all stages of growth and development
• Deliver competent clinical care including knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of the nursing process and patient progress
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education and assessment for surgical patients
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and use of two patient identifiers
• Support timely completion of Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) and evaluate orders for appropriateness
• Local candidates accepted
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning
