Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring an OK or compact RN license and ACLS certification.
Details
- Work in the Adult Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- May involve ED holds requiring management of admitted patients awaiting inpatient beds
- Schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekend shift requirements apply
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Minimum of one year of RN experience required
- Strong knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assist physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient status, and intervene as needed
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and will not accommodate push starts
- Travelers may extend contracts only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
