Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring at least one year of ED experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Details
- Work in the Adult Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- Care for a diverse patient population with health issues ranging from simple to complex, including ED hold patients
- Schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours weekly)
- Weekend shifts required for ED hold coverage
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of one year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document nursing interventions and treatment responses
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Returning workers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks unless otherwise agreed, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements including drug screens and background checks must begin immediately upon offer
- Candidates must be able to start at least 4 weeks from time of offer due to compliance processing timelines
