Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a high acuity, high volume night shift position requiring at least one year of recent ER experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department combined Adult/Pediatric work setting
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred (facility is a Level III Trauma Hospital)
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4
• 30-minute uninterrupted lunch break required, no skipped meals
• High acuity, high volume ER environment

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact license required
• Minimum one year of recent ER experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification via AHA required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification and fit test required
• CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Skills required include blood product administration, central line care/management, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration
• Experience with ortho-trauma, identifying and reporting abuse (pediatric), near drowning (pediatric), respiratory infections (pediatric), and seizures (pediatric) required
• Any charting system experience accepted

Additional Information

• Care for a wide range of ER cases including shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and CVA
• Responsible for triage and isolation precautions/PPE compliance
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
• Requested time off must not exceed 7 days
• Local candidates within 60 miles are considered, though at a lower rate
• First-time travelers may be considered
