Description

American Traveler is hiring a Critical Care Float RN for a night shift assignment requiring multi-ICU float experience and a Level I Trauma academic hospital background.

Details

• Critical Care Float position within a hospital setting
• Requires experience floating across multiple ICU units including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery
• Also involves IMC/Progressive/General care patient populations
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730
• Requires working every other weekend and some holidays
• Floating required as needed across units
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted for
• 5 years of experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Academic/teaching hospital experience preferred
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Experience in an Academic Level I Trauma center required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting with strict passing criteria on both adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, CVVHD/CRRT, and management of dysrhythmias required

Additional Information

• Deliver critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including neuro, cardiovascular, trauma, and burn units
• Provide care for complex cases including CVA/stroke, traumatic brain injury, post-craniotomy, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Manage patients on ECMO, IABP, Impella, and continuous IV sedation or paralytics as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Located at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
