Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Home Health position requiring OASIS and HCHB proficiency along with a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Adult home health setting serving a geriatric patient population
• Territory covers the Suffolk/Portsmouth or Newport News/Hampton (Peninsula) areas
• Average caseload of 5-7 patients per day
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Uses HCHB (Homecare Homebase) EMR system
• On-call required on a rotating 1-week basis, likely once during the contract
• Weekend rotation required, likely once during the contract
• iPad provided for documentation, personal cell phone use not required
• Mileage reimbursed at the IRS standard rate

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent relevant home health experience required
• OASIS experience required for completing Start of Care (SOC) assessments
• Proficiency in HCHB (Homecare Homebase) charting system required
• Active driver's license and personal transportation required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include admission assessments, discharge planning, recertification, resumption of care, routine visits, and start of care documentation
• Skilled in wound/integumentary care, medication administration and management, and pain assessment using verbal and nonverbal scales
• Experience with IM, IV, and subcutaneous medication administration, as well as phlebotomy and IV management
• Knowledgeable in infection control precautions
• Timely communication and documentation are mandatory
• Scrubs required in any color, no jeans permitted
• Orientation occurs on Mondays and includes billable training modules
• RTO must be submitted at the time of application
• Former permanent employees must be separated for a minimum of 6 months and approved by HR before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs accepted, with each traveler assigned to their own territory and requiring their own transportation
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
