Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit requiring acute care surgical floor experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.

Details

• , plthe Surgical/Transplant unit combining stepdown and acute medical/surgical care
• Cares for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evation
• Patients require close monitoring for infection and rejection along with timely medication administration
• Nurses may be assigned to either med/surg or stepdown patients depending on unit needs and staffing
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours weekly)
• OR candidates will not be accepted for this role

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• Transplant, ENT, and preceptor/charge experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of surgical and transplant patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and communicate changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood product delivery
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge procedures
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates will not be considered for this position
• Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines for onboarding and will not allow push starts
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks prior to the start date to accommodate compliance requirements
