Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Telemetry Float Pool position requiring 4+ years of recent acute care experience and the ability to independently read telemetry strips.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple hospital units including Med/Surg Ortho/Urology/Neurology/GYN, Cardiology/Telemetry, Surgery, and Cardio-Thoracic units
• Unit bed counts range from 16 to 32 beds depending on the assigned unit
• Average patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts from 7p-7:30a
• Requires working every other weekend and every other holiday
• Most Fridays required with no specific schedule requests accommodated
• Floating required across multiple units with the ability to adapt quickly
• Meditech EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 4+ years of recent acute care experience required
• Some stepdown unit experience needed for night shift
• Experience with Meditech, IV therapy, and telemetry required
• Must have at least 1 recent successful travel contract
• Must independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site exam with 84% or better on Day 1 (up to 2 attempts allowed)
• Psychiatric experience highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• 5+ years of previous float pool experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across multiple med/surg and telemetry units, adapting quickly to different unit environments and patient populations
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested and no extended RTO is permitted
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered given required travel contract experience
