Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Center position requiring 5+ years of experience, TNCC certification, and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Center of an acute care hospital
- Handles approximately 180-200 patient visits per day
- Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric, including trauma, neuro, and orthopedic cases
- Facility serves as a CVA (stroke) center
- Unit includes a 6-bed behavioral/psych lockdown area staffed by psych personnel
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Uses MEDITECH 6.15 EMR system
- Nurses perform their own lab draws and start their own IVs
- 24/7 dedicated Respiratory Therapist support for ventilator patients held in ER until admitted
- Central monitoring tech available for telemetry/monitoring
- Charge Nurse present on shifts
- 5-6 Nurse Aides/Paramedics staffed per shift
- Security and patient safety sitters available, with patients held in main ER until admitted
- 12-hour day shifts from 7a-7p
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS or ASLS, and CPI
- Minimum 5+ years of RN experience required
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- MEDITECH EMR experience required
- Emergency Department experience in an acute care setting required
Additional Information
- Provide direct emergency care to a diverse patient population including trauma, neuro, ortho, and stroke cases
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
- Must complete ORT (orientation/readiness training) during week one; extensions require prior approval from EC leadership
- Caribbean Blue scrubs required
- Auto lunch deductions apply
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
- Not eligible for placement if employed by the facility within the last 12 months
- Attendance policy includes formal complaints and potential termination after repeated call-offs or tardiness
