Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring 2 years of Level 1 trauma or mid-to-large hospital experience.

Details

• Work on a 30-bed dedicated education unit within a Level 1 trauma center
• Care for a mixed Med/Surg patient population
• Patient ratio of 5-6:1
• Travelers provide direct patient care and are not responsible for educating
• 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Charge Day shift schedule
• Deferred schedule type
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling generally not approved
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Level 1 trauma center or mid-to-large hospital experience required
• Proven success working in high-pressure, high-volume trauma environments required
• Experience managing critical, fast-paced situations required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg patients on a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma unit
• No RTO permitted during this assignment
• Accepts local candidates at the same rate as the travel rate
• Positive attitude and timeliness are essential
