Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring TX or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Work in a hospital Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health rooms
- Care for a diverse ED patient population including cardiac, trauma, and behavioral health cases
- Patient ratios of 1:4 ED, 1:5 behavioral health, and 1:3 cardiac/trauma
- Uses Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
- Charts using the MEDITECH EMR system
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekend requirements
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Emergency Department nursing
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS
- CPI certification required for ER units
- MEDITECH EMR experience preferred
- Trauma experience preferred
- Holding inpatient experience preferred
- No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSNs accepted)
Additional Information
- Perform procedures including splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central line care, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, Morgan lens application, rapid infusion, and resuscitation
- Join a team of 111 staff members including charge nurses, PCTs, a paramedic, and an LVN
- Ideal candidates are multitaskers, team players, and self-starters
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
- Must follow all established facility policies and guidelines
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
