Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a night shift hospital assignment requiring ARRT(R)(CT) certification and 1-2 years of CT and acute care experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Computed Tomography department
- 3x12-hour night shifts per week including weekends
- Uses Epic for charting
- Performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
- Administers contrast media per protocol under physician or radiologist supervision
Requirements
- ARRT(R)(CT) certification required
- BLS (AHA) certification required and must not expire prior to start
- Associate degree required
- 1-2 years of CT and acute care experience preferred
- 1 year of experience in the specialty required
- License required if applicable
- Radiation badge required (provided by facility)
- Strong understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency
- Proficiency operating CT equipment and knowledge of CT imaging techniques and protocols
- Knowledge of contrast administration protocols including contrast injector operation
- Ability to view, transfer, and manipulate electronic images
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergent patient situations
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team
Additional Information
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation
- Reviews and evaluates images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
- Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and infection control practices
- Provides patient education and addresses patient or family concerns
- Coordinates and communicates patient care information with other providers
- Maintains accurate records of procedures and any adverse reactions or incidents
- Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, and obtaining consents
- May assist and instruct students or other radiology technologists on exam protocols and procedures
- Participates in continuing education to stay current with CT technology and techniques
- Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for this travel assignment
