Description
American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Medical/Surgical unit requiring LA or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Details
- Acute Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes post-surgical patients such as orthopedic and general surgery cases, with a focus on neuro populations
- Nurse to patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment length
- Full-time position with 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
- Weekend scheduling based on facility need
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required based on facility need
- EPIC EMR experience is a plus but not required
Requirements
- Active RN license in LA or compact required
- BLS certification via AHA required
- BSN preferred
- 1 year of experience in Med/Surg nursing specialty preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Temp-to-perm opportunity is a possibility
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius unless the position specifically states locals are accepted
- Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment
