Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgery Trauma Med/Surg position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a GA or compact license and prior high-acuity trauma experience.

Details

• Work on the 6B Surgery Trauma unit of a Level 1 trauma center hospital
• Care for a high-acuity surgical, gunshot, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patient population
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Support staff includes nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and a night unit secretary
• ED nurses and admitting units complete a formal nurse handoff process
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No block scheduling available; must be willing to work assigned shifts
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty
• Prior experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments required
• Background in high-volume hospitals managing complex and severe cases required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within a high-acuity surgical trauma floor handling complex and challenging cases
• No RTO permitted during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as the travel rate
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
