Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift assignment at an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of RT experience and critical care background.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with a Level 2 Trauma designation
- Respiratory Therapy unit within a 299-bed hospital with a 40-bed ED
- Utilizes EPIC EMR for charting
- Equipment used includes V60 BiPAPs and 980/840 ventilators
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements and never works alone
- Floating limited to Respiratory Therapy department only
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting
- Critical care experience required
- NICU experience preferred but not required
- Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy or U.S. military equivalent
- Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC required
- Current Idaho state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required
- AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Strong communication and technical skills to adapt equipment and procedures
Additional Information
- Assists in diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders
- Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to assess oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gas levels
- Measures lung capacity to determine impaired function
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care
- Monitors specialized equipment and patient condition to ensure appropriate operation
- Demonstrates critical thinking and adapts to changes in workload for optimal patient care
- Completes general facility orientation followed by department-specific orientation with an educator
- Olive green scrubs required and provided by the department
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
