Description
American Traveler is hiring a Neuro Tele RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license, with first-time travelers welcome.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds and Level II Trauma Center designation
- Care for a neuro/telemetry patient population including stroke, craniotomy, and neurosurgical cases
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Weekend commitment of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating required between units and potentially sister facilities
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required, in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Experience with 1:4 patient ratios required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team protocols
- Experience with peripheral IV therapy and line management
- Experience with neurological conditions including aneurysms, craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, post-TPA care, seizure disorders, and spinal cord injury preferred
- Experience with substance withdrawal management preferred
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
- Perform respiratory care including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing personnel
- Free employee parking available in designated surface lots
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests should be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates can only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time
