Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring transplant recovery experience and a Compact or LA RN license.

Details

  • ICU setting encompassing Surgical ICU and Transplant ICU
  • High acuity patient population including CVICU and transplant recovery cases (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas)
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12 or 4x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
  • Float requirement to other ICUs and step-down units
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • No on-call requirements
  • No block scheduling requests accommodated

Requirements

  • Active RN license, Compact or LA license required in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty required
  • Required experience in transplant recovery care (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas)
  • Experience in post cardiac surgery care (directly from OR) required
  • Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT/CVVHD) required
  • Preferred experience with PA catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

Additional Information

  • Provide high acuity ICU care including post-op recovery for surgical and transplant patients
  • Care for patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support, and renal replacement therapy
  • Orientation held 5 days a week
  • Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • RTO must be disclosed and finalized prior to interview to avoid offer rescission
  • Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation from the facility before returning as a travel candidate
  • First-time travelers are not typically considered due to travel experience requirement
