Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a night shift assignment requiring MA RRT license and 1-2 years of experience.

Details

• Work in a Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit specializing in Pediatrics
• Care for adult critical care, emergency department, and pediatric patient populations
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Uses Epic and Meditech charting systems
• Perform ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Provide care for infants/children with respiratory distress syndrome, RSV, and other pediatric respiratory conditions
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

• MA RRT license required if applicable
• BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• 1-2 years of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including capillary and umbilical blood gases
• Skilled in arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
• Experience with medication delivery systems and administration for respiratory conditions
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care and support in pediatric, critical care, and emergency department settings
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care/management
• Manage patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia
• Complete pre-start and orientation modules as part of onboarding
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no RTO permitted during the first week
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
