Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN with 2+ years of current L&D experience and travel assignment experience for a night shift role at a teaching hospital with 200-300 births per month.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a teaching hospital setting with 200-300 births per month
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2 for labor patients and 1:8 for postpartum/couplets
• On-call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Weekend requirements of every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
• Floating required in accordance with facility policy and clinical experience
• Cares for high risk antepartum and obstetric triage patients
• Performs fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN-Intermediate, and NRP
• NIHSS certification may be obtained after acceptance
• Minimum 2 years of current Labor and Delivery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
• Proof of residency documents required within 48 hours of offer acceptance if claiming local rate

Additional Information

• Provide antepartum care including triage, fetal monitoring, and management of high-risk deliveries
• Administer medications including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, recover C-section patients, perform sterile vaginal exams, and circulate for C-sections
• Maintain central lines including CVC and PICC lines and perform IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• RTO requests are not accommodated during major holidays or holiday weeks, including Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Holiday RTO requests can be addressed directly with the manager after arrival onsite using the RTO form
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles of the facility at a reduced bill rate
• Former permanent staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months but may return to another Covenant Health campus after 12 months
• Related or married travel team members cannot be placed on the same unit
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position due to travel experience requirement
