Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring an active IA or compact RN license and BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Room department of a 217-licensed-bed regional health center
- 17-bed ED unit with a patient ratio of 1:6 and approximately 40 visits per day
- Patient population is mainly adults and geriatrics
- Uses MediTech EHR
- Shift runs from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Call coverage required to cover daily volume 24/7
Requirements
- Active RN license (Iowa or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and TNCC
- 1-2+ years of RN experience in an acute care facility required
- Iowa SING background check required, including criminal and child abuse portions, with no exceptions
- All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide searches not accepted
- Mandatory reporter certification required (Child and Adult)
- 10-panel drug screening required, including opiates
- Titers required from the last 12 months for MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care to a mix of adult and geriatric patients
- Facility offers a full range of services including Critical Care, Med/Surg, Acute Rehab, OB, Pediatrics, Cath Lab, Diagnostics, Wound Care, Pain Clinic, and Sleep Lab
- Monday or Tuesday start dates accepted
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
- Located in Ottumwa, IA, known for its river trails and low cost of living
