Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Ortho/Neuro Unit Nights position requiring a WI or compact RN license and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Work in the Ortho/Neuro Unit of a hospital and trauma center
• Patient population includes med-surg orthopedic and neurology cases
• 13-week travel assignment
• Night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 7 AM
• 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required
• Floating to other units may be required

Requirements

• Active WI RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Education verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care
• Document patient care according to established standards
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Utilize critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
• Holiday coverage required in addition to every other weekend shifts
