Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of adult critical care experience for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the adult critical care setting at Ashley River Tower, including Cardiovascular ICU (21 beds) and Medical-Surgical ICU (18 beds)
- Cardiovascular ICU cases include postop cardiac, thoracic, and complex vascular surgery patients, heart and lung transplant, durable LVAD, temporary mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, IABP, and Impella, and complex cardiology patients including post cardiac arrest, acute MI, and decompensated heart failure
- Medical-Surgical ICU cases include mixed medical and abdominal surgical patients, ARDS, septic shock, hematologic and oncologic emergencies, GI hemorrhage, pulmonary hypertension, and perforated viscous
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Holiday coverage required
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Potential floating limited to the Main Hospital adult population under the same policies, equipment, and charting requirements
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of adult critical care experience as an RRT
- NBRC RRT certification required (CRT will be considered)
- BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
- South Carolina RCP license required, and must be in hand at time of start
- License required if applicable
- First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
- Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status and 865 total staffed beds
- Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue
- Candidates may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November with peak activity in August and September
- Block scheduling requests may be accommodated with prior approval, but are not guaranteed
- Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
