Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med-Surg position requiring 2+ years of experience, ACLS/rhythm interpretation training, and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a 16-bed private room Medical-Surgical unit within a Level 3 trauma teaching hospital
- Care for a geriatric and adult patient population
- Patient ratios of 1:4, with 1:3 accommodations for higher acuity patients
- Common diagnoses include ETOH detox, post-PCI, DKA/HHS, cardiac conditions, GI issues, and BIPAP support
- 12-hour day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend shift required, with 2 weekend shifts per 2-week pay period
- On-call responsibilities required
- Floating required
- Uses Paragon (McKesson) EHR system
- No block schedules available
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must have training in ACLS or a rhythm interpretation course
- Minimum 2+ years of Med-Surg RN experience required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Skilled in EKG/cardiac monitoring, respiratory assessment and support, and medication titration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and medication titration for a mixed geriatric and adult population
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
- No designated scrub color, but standard professional attire is required

This Cath Lab is only travelers at the moment and has locum doctors on rotation. Some days are very slow but there is also a couple IR doctors who does some easy procedures.
Cons
On call is currently 7 consecutive days on then you get 4 days off before going back on due to number of staff present.
