Description
American Traveler is hiring a Neuro Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital requiring 2+ years of IR and Neuro experience.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit specializing in Neuro IR procedures
- Daily caseload of 4-5 cases per technologist
- 5x8 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call required every 5th weekend and one night per week, must be within 30 minutes of facility during on-call
- No floating to sister facilities required
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Interventional Radiology and Neuro experience required
- BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
- ARRT VI certification required
- ACLS and CCI RCIS certifications preferred
- License required if applicable
- Must provide own radiation badge
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status
- Facility provides scrubs
- First-time travelers accepted
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; approval based on manager and unit needs
- Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
- Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November, peaking in August and September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams

Pros
Everyone was so helpful and nice when i started. beautiful hospital grounds with ample outdoor areas to hang out during breaks/lunch.Amazing cafeteria and always had at least 5 food trucks outside the hospital for linch. Friendly staff including doctors and great patients. patient to staff ratio was awesome and always had a great team mentality of helping everyone out when needed.
Cons
The only con of the area was cost of living especially rent. I rented downtown so I could walk to work but coworkers who lived off of the main downtown area on other islands complained of heavy traffic.
