Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring high-risk, high-volume obstetrical experience and intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

Details

• Level of care: High-risk obstetrical unit within a Women's Hospital setting
• 24-bed Labor and Delivery unit
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines approximately 80% of the time, including 2:1 cervical ripening, 3:1 triage, 2:1 stable postpartum mag, 1:1 unstable or laboring mag, 1:1 pitocin or active labor, and 2:1 early labor
• Procedures performed on unit include vaginal deliveries, c-sections, D&C, and post-delivery recovery care
• Uses GE fetal monitors
• Documentation completed in Meditech and CPN
• 13-week night shift assignment, 7P-7A, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend rotation required
• Floating required to the antepartum unit within Women's Services as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of high-risk labor and delivery experience required
• High-risk, high-volume obstetrical experience required
• Experience circulating in C-sections within the labor and delivery area required
• Experience recovering high acuity patients required
• Intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring certification required
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required, Advanced 9th Edition
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide bedside nursing care within a high-risk obstetrical labor and delivery setting
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
• Follow unit dress code including designated scrub color, clean and healthy nails with no artificial enhancements, neatly groomed hair pulled back when shoulder length or longer, and minimal visible body art or piercings
• Adhere to company-wide attendance policy
• First-time travelers may be considered
