Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift MRI Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of MRI experience and current ARRT-MR certification.
Details
- Hospital setting with a Stroke Center designation
- MRI unit averaging 25-30 patients per 24-hour period
- Patient population ranges from 5-year-old to geriatric, with rare NICU infant cases for suspected brain bleed
- Performs MRI exams including stroke, IAC, pituitary, feet, abdomen, brain, total spine, defecography, urogram, and enterography studies
- Device-related MRI studies scheduled on Wednesdays during the day, with Medtronic device support available 24 hours
- 12-hour night shifts from 1900-0700, Friday through Sunday
- 36 standard hours per week on a set schedule
- Works solo as MRI Tech during night shift, supported by an MRI Assistant
- On-call requirement of one weekend per month (Friday night through Monday morning) with a 1-hour response time
- No floating required
- EPIC EMR preferred
- Uses GE Cigna Artist 1.5 MRI scanner, MR 400 tele monitor, Medirad MRI IV pump, and ViewPACS
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year MRI experience in an acute or outpatient setting
- Current BLS and ARRT-MR certification required (ARMRIT not accepted)
- License required if applicable
- Skilled in MRI safety protocols and bore compatibility assessment
- Experience setting up suction and operating oxygen equipment
- Comfortable handling critical or ventilated patients accompanied by ICU RN and RT
- Able to place patients on MR telemetry and administer contrast
- Strong critical thinking skills and comfort caring for confused patients
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Facility is not trauma designated and is not a teaching hospital
- Support team includes a transporter until 2300, MRI Assistant, on-call Lead MRI Tech, and 24/7 radiologist, RT, and hospitalist coverage
- Rapid Response and Code Team available for emergencies
- Orientation includes NEO plus one week of day shift and one week of night shift unit orientation
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved
- Black scrubs required
- Free parking provided
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
