Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Critical Care Flex Pool position requiring 2 years of critical care experience and an active AZ or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the ICU/PCU Critical Care Flex Pool of a short-term acute care teaching hospital with Level I trauma designation
- Care for patients requiring critical care and cardiac monitoring with 3-4:1 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Weekend shifts required as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float to MS Tele units (Humphrey, 3 North, 3 West, Kendrick, 2 East) and Cardiac Monitoring Room as needed
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Facility has a Vascular Access Team (VAT) to assist with difficult IVs
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted AZ RN License or valid compact license required (can be submitted with pending status)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required, 2-6 years preferred
- Experience with cardiac drips required (excluding vasopressors)
- Experience managing and interpreting dysrhythmias required
- Must be able to read and interpret own cardiac strips
- MS/Tele and/or PCU work history required
- BSN preferred
- ATCN certification preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing services including cardiac drip management and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Must be comfortable floating without restrictions to nearby affiliate hospitals or other units based on skills and census needs
- Any scrub color permitted
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

- Time off requests require unit manager approval
- Facility may call off staff up to 6 times during the 13-week assignment
- Must be available to work 2 of the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
- Travel pairs accepted for this unit
- Previous employees of this health system must have a 12-month separation before returning as a traveler
