Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and openness to floating between units.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Level IV trauma facility with 87 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4/5
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7pm-7am
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required between two MS/Tele units, and potentially to other units or nearby affiliate hospitals based on skills and census needs
• Uses standard med surg/tele equipment
• Most patient rooms equipped with Liko lifts
• Charting completed in Cerner
• Works within a flex pool

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required (pending accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Strong MS/Tele experience required; ICU/PCU experience a plus
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Comfortable floating without restrictions between units and affiliate facilities

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Tele flex pool, floating where needed based on census
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies, including interpreting and managing dysrhythmias
• Scrub color required: navy blue
• Free parking available onsite
• Candidates must be available to work 2 recognized holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day)
• RTO requests require unit manager approval, with no time off permitted during the first week due to orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Travel pairs are accepted for this unit
• Previous facility staff must have been separated from employment for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
