Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring ICU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Neuro ICU of a hospital environment
- Care for ICU and IMC patient populations, including neurosurgical and neurological cases
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Required to work every other weekend, with contingent weekend scheduling if a scheduled weekend is requested off
- Some holiday coverage required
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Floating required as needed
Requirements
- Active WI or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years required
- Neurosurgery experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting
- Skilled in ICU-level interventions such as arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, and cardiac/vasoactive drip titration
- Experience with neurological care including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU and IMC neuro patients, including post-neurosurgical and stroke care
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
- Work at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as the top hospital in Wisconsin
- Telemetry exam includes strict criteria such as 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher passing score
- Up to two attempts allowed for telemetry exam; a third attempt requires proof of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
