Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position requiring 1 year of specialty experience and a Montana or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Long Term Care unit of a hospital environment
• Care for extended care/long-term care resident population
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week
• Uses Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license (Montana or Compact) required, no pending license accepted
• BLS certification from American Heart Association, must not expire prior to start
• ASN required, graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• 1 year of experience in Long Term Care specialty required
• Epic charting experience required
• Able to read and write at a level to fulfill documentation requirements
• Must be able to lift objects over 100 lbs with frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
• Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Complete holistic, age-specific admission history, physical assessments, and nursing plans of care for assigned residents
• Analyze clinical data including labs, x-rays, and diagnostics to formulate individualized care plans
• Identify and document residents at risk for nutritional and functional decline
• Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
• Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team to set care priorities
• Delegate tasks to team members based on resident needs and staff competency
• Communicate with physicians to coordinate medical and nursing care plans
• Demonstrate competence in technical skills including medication and IV administration per scope of practice
• Manage urgent and emergent resident care situations
• Document nursing interventions, resident responses, and outcomes
• Identify resident and family learning needs and provide education
• Coordinate discharge planning and activities including transfer documents and follow-up instructions
• Maintain working knowledge of CMS regulations and Medicare skilled/MDS criteria for documentation compliance
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate performance of assigned CNA staff
• Returning employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• Allow adequate time for background check and drug screening processing prior to start
