Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pre-Op/PACU RN requiring at least 2 years of pre/post, PACU, ICU, or Imaging experience and a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the PreOp department of a hospital setting
- Focus on prep, recovery, and intraprocedural nursing support for IR and OR radiology needs
- Support MRI, US, CT, and Nuclear Medicine procedures with nursing needs such as IV placement, telemetry monitoring, and foley placement
- Mix of inpatient and outpatient patient population
- 1:3 patient ratio
- Uses Epic charting system
- Day/Evening shifts, Monday through Friday, with 8 or 10-hour shifts starting between 0700-0800
- No weekends or holidays required
- Floating required as needed
- Uses GE equipment
Requirements
- Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in pre/post, PACU, ICU, or Imaging
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, covering adult and pediatric rhythm identification
- Skills required: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, starting and maintaining IVs, automated medication dispensing systems, bar code medication administration, and medication management
- Experience with conscious sedation administration and monitoring preferred
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
Additional Information
- Prepare patients for procedures and complete intraprocedural nurse sedation documentation
- Provide nursing support for radiology, MRI, US, CT, and Nuclear Medicine procedures
- Responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, infection prevention, sterile procedures, and patient positioning
- Follows CDC standard precautions, isolation precautions/PPE, and national patient safety goals
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- Works in a Magnet-designated teaching hospital environment
