Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Outpatient setting requiring 1 year of outpatient experience and IL license (if applicable).

Details

• Outpatient physical therapy clinic setting
• Patient population includes orthopedic conditions, spinal conditions, post-op procedures, and occupational injury cases
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Treats more than one patient at a time in accordance with clinic productivity expectations
• Productivity expectation of approximately 60 visits per 40-hour work week

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an outpatient setting
• BLS certification required
• IL license required if applicable, with proof of pending licensure accepted before start date
• License must be maintained in good standing for the duration of employment
• Experience with orthopedic, spinal, and neurologic patient populations preferred
• Familiarity with home exercise program development and patient/family education

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients per physician referral or direct access
• Supervises physical therapy assistants and PT technicians in carrying out plans of care
• Performs occupational health services including injured worker evaluations, Return to Work planning, and post-offer testing such as WorkSTEPS or APET
• Conducts Work Hardening Evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and ergonomic or job analysis assessments
• Communicates regularly with referring physicians and rehab nurses regarding patient progress
• Utilizes appropriate billing codes for various payer types
• May assist with scheduling, answering phones, and processing referrals as needed
• May support marketing and community outreach efforts on behalf of the clinic
• Open to first-time travelers
