Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a TX or compact license, 2+ years of ED experience, and TNCC/NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Level II Trauma Center emergency department in a short-term acute care hospital setting
- Nights shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- No floating between units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Weekend requirement of 6 weekends per 6-week schedule
- Block scheduling is approved but not required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of ED nursing experience required (hardstop requirement)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills needed include respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line management, and CVA/neurological care
- Proficiency in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, medication administration, and IV vasopressor management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
- First-time travelers considered only if candidate holds over 2 years of ED experience
Additional Information
- Facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Certified facility
- Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be granted
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles for local rate consideration
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Only one submission to a Providence facility allowed at a time
- Free employee parking available in designated surface lots
