Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a day shift hospital assignment requiring an active SC or compact RN license and 2 years of recent experience.

Details

• Inpatient Cardiac Telemetry unit setting
• Cares for adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions such as sepsis, MI, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease
• Patients may also require IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation management
• Performs cardiac telemetry monitoring, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring
• Involved in vasoactive drug administration, antiarrhythmic drug therapy, thrombolytic therapy, defibrillation/cardioversion, and thoracentesis
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
• Floating required to similar units or other facilities depending on census needs
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in the field required
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac telemetry unit
• Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

• Provides emergency response and ongoing monitoring for cardiac and multisystem patients
• Orientation occurs every Monday along with annual compliance training
• Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses is required based on facility census needs, limited to units where competencies have been demonstrated
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
• Travelers must be more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced rates available for those 90-99.9 miles away
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must be at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible, with reduced rates for those 50-99.9 miles away
