Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit position requiring 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and a compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) of a large academic hospital
  • Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-operative neurosurgical needs
  • Rotating 7A/7P shifts on a 36 or 48 hour per week schedule
  • Weekend rotation required for 3 of every 6 weekends
  • On-call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Floating required to areas of similar skill set including ICU and IMC
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience in a comparable facility size (500+ beds) required

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex patients requiring interface between brain and other vital organ systems
  • Support post-operative neurosurgical patients including those with stroke, brain tumors, and nerve or muscle diseases
  • Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
  • Strong candidates are preferred for this facility
