Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Cardio/Pulmonary unit requiring Tele, Level 1 Trauma, and Epic experience.

Details

• Work in the Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00AM to 7:30PM
• 36 hours per week across 3 days per week
• No on-call requirements
• 6 weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Floating required to similar units
• Uses Epic EMR for documentation

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Telemetry experience required
• Level 1 Trauma setting experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Skilled in IV venipuncture, blood administration, lab monitoring, and pain management
• Experience with patient discharge planning and care plan development

Additional Information

• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Implement nursing interventions including medication administration and evaluate effectiveness
• Prepare patients for procedures and manage pain, IV therapy, and blood administration
• Provide discharge instructions to ensure safe transition from hospital
• Participate in team huddles and delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up
• Perform basic patient care including turning and toileting per standards of care
• Maintain professional communication and conflict resolution skills with all team members
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Candidates who have worked continuously at this health system for more than 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning
