Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Cardiac-Pulmonary position requiring Tele, Level 1 Trauma, and EPIC experience.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Uses EPIC for EMR documentation
• Day shift schedule: 7:00AM - 7:30PM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Requires 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• May float to like units
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience
• Telemetry and Level 1 Trauma experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Skilled in medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and lab monitoring

Additional Information

• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Implement nursing interventions and modify care plans based on ongoing evaluation
• Prepare patients for procedures and manage pain, IV therapy, and blood administration
• Provide discharge instructions to support safe transition from hospital
• Participate in team huddles and delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up
• Demonstrate strong professional communication and conflict management skills
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Assignment length of 13 weeks
• First-time travelers may be considered
