Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist requiring ARRT (CT) certification and a minimum of three years of applicable experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Imaging department performing CT scanning procedures
• Patient population includes patients of all ages
• Night shift schedule from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours weekly
• No weekend shifts required
• Holiday shifts rotate among staff
• Stand-by call required
• May float to other affiliated Carle Health hospital locations
• Uses CT scanning equipment including workstations and printers
• Documents exams using the HIS STAR Radiology system

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of applicable CT experience
• Associate's Degree required
• ARRT (CT) certification required
• IMEA (Illinois state) Rad Tech License required if applicable
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and independent judgment skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of invasive procedures, sterile tray setup, and assisting radiologists with catheters and guidewires
• Basic computer knowledge required
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate multicultural sensitivity

Additional Information

• Perform routine and specialized CT examinations, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic results under radiologist direction
• Prepare patients for examinations and maintain quality care throughout each procedure
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report problems through appropriate channels
• Maintain a clean and stocked work area, verifying accessories for each room
• Coordinate patient flow and transport patients to and from the department as needed
• Follow patient safety goals and maintain QA, QC, and QI program standards
• Train and mentor fellow technologists and students, fostering a collaborative learning environment
• Promote patient and staff safety through proper use of lift equipment and safe patient handling techniques
