Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2+ years experience for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring ARRT or NMTCB certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in the Nuclear Medicine department
- Department has 4 scanners/rooms
- Common studies include cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung scans, thyroid uptake, and tilts
- Average of 12-15 scans/studies per day
- Uses Meditech Expanse EMR and AGFA IMPAX PACS
- Equipment includes 2 Siemens E-cam and 2 Philips Brightview systems
- Monday-Friday day shift 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, no self-scheduling
- Rotating weekend call coverage every 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM-7 AM, Saturday & Sunday 24 hours)
- Call requirement of one day per week when not on weekend call
- No floating to other departments required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- ARRT or NMTCB certification required
- Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) verification required
- BLS certification required
- WV State Licensure required if applicable
- Must be able to start IVs and perform EKGs
- Unexpired driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Work under a Lead Tech with an in-house radiologist available
- Department-specific orientation provided
- Radiation badge must be provided by the agency, as the facility does not supply one
- Scrubs are not provided; black scrubs required with no embroidery, no t-shirts, and scrub jackets only if needed for warmth
- Closed-toe shoes required; no Crocs with holes or backs out
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Local candidates are not accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies to this facility
