Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care/Cardiac ICU position requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• >16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) unit caring for pre- and post-open-heart surgery patients using a universal bed concept where patients remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge
• Also cares for general ICU, complex cardiology, IABP/Impella, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients
• Day shift schedule of 6:30a-7p, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week on a 13-week assignment
• 0.9 FTE position

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required per department compliance
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including nursing rounds, assessments, treatments, and care coordination
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegate and oversee team members in performance of patient care activities
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI prevention
• Clinical educator provides customized orientation for new staff
