Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift position requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) unit providing care for pre/post open-heart surgery patients using a universal bed concept where patients remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge
• Also cares for general ICU, complex cardiology, IABP/Impella, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients
• Night shift schedule working 6:30p-7a
• 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours per week
• 0.9 FTE position

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (Indiana or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including nursing rounds, assessments, treatments, and care coordination centered on patient and family-centered practice
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments considering culture, age, and developmental level, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Clinical educator provides customized orientation for new staff
