Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Neuro/General Surgery unit requiring 1 year of experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Prior neuro or CVA/pre-post neurosurgery experience preferred
• EPIC EMR charting system used

Additional Information

• Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital with 820 staffed beds
• Responsibilities include isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care (nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management), IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and cardiac monitoring with emergency response
• Scrub requirement: solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms
• Holiday rotation coverage required
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be reassigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius, at a reduced rate compared to travel candidates
• Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager approval and unit needs
