Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Neuro/General Surgery unit requiring 1 year of experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Requirements
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Prior neuro or CVA/pre-post neurosurgery experience preferred
- EPIC EMR charting system used
Additional Information
- Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital with 820 staffed beds
- Responsibilities include isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care (nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management), IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and cardiac monitoring with emergency response
- Scrub requirement: solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms
- Holiday rotation coverage required
- During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be reassigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius, at a reduced rate compared to travel candidates
- Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager approval and unit needs
