Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a high acuity Stepdown Unit position requiring active NJ or compact RN license and ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in a high acuity Stepdown Unit (SDU) within a hospital setting
• 12-hour AM shifts scheduled 7a-7p, three days per week for a total of 36 hours weekly
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating to other units and to a sister hospital nearby as needed
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license (NJ or Compact) required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the lifespan from pediatric to geriatric populations
• Deliver competent clinical care including knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of the nursing process and patient progress
• Provide patient and family education throughout the continuum of care
• Support Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) processes including order evaluation for surgical patients
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and two-patient identifier verification
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Local candidates accepted
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date
