Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Ortho/Trauma Med/Surg unit position requiring a compact or Oklahoma RN license and at least one year of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in the Ortho/Trauma Unit of a hospital setting
• Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week
• Med/Surg experience required for scheduling

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing and intervening as needed
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as the facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
• Returning travelers may only extend an assignment once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
